The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through CDC and NIH, awarded nearly $3 million to two Centers of Excellence in Vector-Borne Diseases for research on reducing tick populations. Projects will test acaricide-treated feed for deer and dual-action baits for rodents that host juvenile ticks. NOAA’s flood mapping tool now covers nearly 100% of U.S.
NOAA’s National Weather Service said Flood Inundation Mapping is now available on an experimental basis to nearly 100% of the U.S. population. The tool estimates where flooding may occur in coming days based on forecast river flows and current conditions. NOAA said the nationwide expansion helps communities assess flood impacts earlier.

The Federal Trade Commission is seeking public comment on whether to update its Rule on Impersonation of Government and Businesses to address online platforms’ role in promoting impersonation scams. An Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking will seek input on ad-optimization tools and related services. The Commission voted 2-0 to submit the notice for Federal Register publication.
Governor Ivey Directs Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to Halt Enforcement on Dyed Diesel Fuel to Relieve Agricultural & Timber Communities
